Day 30

I am thankful for my thankful month. While I didn't post every single day I can honestly say I did stop and think every single day about how much I have to be thankful for. It's always a nice reminder of just how blessed I am.

Now...on to the hustle and bustle of Christmas!

Day 29

I am thankful for sales! I am thankful for supportive family and friends. Sooo I am on my 3rd, yes third etsy store. Yes I know that seems a little flaky. The first one I decided I didn't like the name anymore. The second one...well, I sold a handful of things but it seemed like everyone always wanted it....they wanted it in another size! Grrrr...I am all for custom made things but for me to profit there is no way I could make 1 or 2 things a week. Not to mention the stress of trying to finish on time!
Seeing so many cute hats and needing a portable hobby led me to store #3 Inner Hooker. Come on you know its a clever name! Anyways this is definitely the thing to sell for me. Patterns. I only have to make as many of something as I enjoy and others can make their own....and I can profit a little from it. If you haven't checked it out yet head on over!

5 weeks in and 40 sales...not too shabby! Now if I can get about 10 a day I'll be super stoked! I had another blog email me asking if they could feature me...pretty fun! I also am going to be on a fairly legit blog next month...unfortunately this one I had to pay for but still...it has 2500 followers! Hope it brings some business!

Day 28

I am thankful for lazy Saturdays. The kids and I had our usual breakfast at Einsteins and as usual it was so relaxing and peaceful. Sawyer is really learning how to sit in a high chair. Karly talks about how when she grows up she is going to work there so she can eat bagels everyday :) Poor Chris was at work as usual..even when he isn't at work he surely isn't getting up for a bagel!
Stopped to do a little Christmas shopping and surprise surprise everything that was on my list for Black Friday sales was still on sale! To top it off the stores were less busy than normal!
Now maybe Ill get my Christmas tree up!

Day 27

I am thankful I survived my lame ass attempt at Black Friday. After 30 minutes in freezing weather I decided I am not a black friday kind of girl! To all you that are...kudos.

Day 26

Happy Thanksgiving!
I am thankful for my family and friends.
I am thankful we are all relatively healthy, happy and have enough.
This year I have been so blessed. We have a new baby and a new home.
We are a wonderful family of four.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Day 23, 24, and 25

23: I am thankful for much needed hot tasty coffee this morning. I am thankful for a short work week and family getting together Thursday.

24: I am thankful for a husband that loves his family and takes his children almost whenever he can

25: Ugghh...Walmart the day before Thanksgiving.

Monday, November 23, 2009

Day 22

I am thankful for my new fabulous front loading washer and dryer. They aren't quite Kelly Ripa status (a little out of the budget, ok, A LOT out of the budget) but they are still great! I swear I did 10 normal size load of laundry this weekend which equals about 6 loads in the new one! It also dries an entire load of jeans in 30 minutes! Never again will I have to throw the one pair of wet jeans in with an entire load of dry and hope and pray they are dry in 45 minutes only to put them on and drive to work with a damp crotch and pockets. You know what I am talking about!

On the crafty to do soon list

I warned you that there would start to be crafty goodness...you just didn't realize I meant within the day I am sure :) This is too cute not to share! I looked on her blog to see if she has any rules about posting back to her and I didn't see anything so hopefully she doesn't care! Momma of Trey and Lucy always has great tutorials! I love her home school desks! SO CUTE! Last year I saw this post too late to make one so this year I was sure to be ahead of the game! I haven't made mine yet but I did buy all the stuff! I wanted to share with you early in case you would like to make one too! Ill share pics of mine as soon as it is done! Now go see how great it is! If you didn't click on the hyperlinks above yet...click here:

more craft related posts?

I am not sure how many people actually read my blog on the regular, especially now that it is linked to my facebook. Debating changing that actually...I feel like the notes in facebook don't look as nice as the blog. Any thoughts on that?

Back to the reason for this post :) I have tried to keep this blog directly and solely related to my family, the kids, etc... I think when I set up my Etsy shop I felt bad blogging crafty items not wanting to seem only self promoting. Well, crafting is a huge part of me and my life so I am going to bring it back to the blog! I promise it won't turn into a craft only blog, but I like to share what I am working on and what I want to do...someday!

Sooooooo while I still LOVE sewing, I have cut back on it quite a bit. Sewing is something that I really need to be able to devote a few hour sitting to at a time and its gotten really difficult with Sawyer and my schedule. I needed a craft I could take with me and entertain me while I wait for Karly to get out of ballet twice a week. That and seeing all of the adorable baby hats I decided I needed to pick up yarn and hook again. I took a quick 2 hour refresher lesson and I was off! I hate to toot my own horn but I am rockin lately! Chris has been quite patient with my new obsession...he calls it my crack :) I was selling items on Etsy that I had sewn and while I loved getting custom orders between them, a full time job, and my family it was very overwhelming and more often than not didn't pay off. Light bulb moment: sell patterns. I can still make things I love but I don't have to make a million to make profit. I have had so much fun making new things and have actually sold a few. Now if I could only sell a dozen a day I could quit my job! I wanted to share a few pictures with you! Hope you enjoy!

So welcome back to the blog crafty goodness!

Backyard Fun

A few videos from today I thought I would share with everyone.

Karly is OBSESSED with trying to flip off this thing.

Please excuse my tremendously annoying voice. Not sure how anyone likes me if I sound this way?!? Anyways...Sawyer rolls!

Day 21

I am thankful that I was able, with Chris's help ;) to give Karly a sibling. She is so crazy in love with this boy. I love watching them "play" together. This was in our backyard today enjoying the almost too cold weather.

Thursday, November 19, 2009

Day 19

I am thankful for DVR...lame yes I know. I still love it though!

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Day 18

I am thankful for the little break today. Chris has Sawyer today which allowed me a baby free work day. I love having him with me all day but a day off here and there is much needed.

Can't wait to get home and kiss my little man...and Chris and Karly ;)

Day 17

I am thankful for sick days. Enough said.

Day 16

I always struggle with thankful things on Mondays...hmmm coincidence? not likely!

Today I am thankful for the lovely weather this weekend, a nice walk in the warm sun, and my little boy getting pretty good at holding himself up!

We definitely needed the walk after stuffing ourselves with Mexican and lunch margaritas!

Day 15

I am thankful for goodbyes. No matter how sad and tear filled they are.
It is always worth the visit. Thanks to my baby sister for visiting me.
I love and adore you more than you know. My heart truly aches driving away from you.
Can't wait to see you again!

Day 14

I am thankful for sisters. Sisters and wine...and the wonderful combination of the two.

Friday, November 13, 2009

Day 13

I am thankful for Southwest Airlines. I am even more thankful for their free flights! I love that they don't assign seats and they get the job done...sure they may land like a fighter jet but they keep my family visiting! Thank you SW!!!

Day 12

I am thankful for such great family. Not just my family I was born into, but the family I married into. They have welcomed myself and Karly into their families as if we were their own. They are always there to help or just be there.
A special shout out to Tammy....thanks so much for your help this week!
We love you!

Day 11

I am thankful to be American!

I am thankful for our Veterans. We live in the greatest country in the world that would be nothing without our military people. Thank you to all the men and women that fight for us. Thank you to their families and friends for standing behind them, supporting them and enduring the military life that isn't always easy.

Thank you.

Day 10

I am thankful that 11, yes I said ELEVEN years ago I delivered a beautiful, healthy, teeny, tiny peanut of a baby weighing a whopping 5.3 pounds. It has been a wild ride with this little diva! She is full of spice and sass and a little sweet in there somewhere! She is such a brilliant amazing young lady. My life wouldn't be complete without her. A few pics from the last few years...

One of these days Ill scan some old pics in...she was the cutest baby girl ever!
Happy Birthday Karly!

Day 9

Uggghhh...I am having a crap day. Today I am thankful I had so many thankful posts recently so I can read them and remember that my life is fabulous...even if work isn't.

Sunday, November 8, 2009

Day 8

I am thankful for my son. Five months ago today I gave birth to a healthy 8 pound 7 oz boy. He is the most beautiful amazing little man. I can't imagine the world without him in it. The past 5 months have flown by. I wish I could slow time and soak him up even more.

Day 7

I am thankful for SATURDAYS!!! My very favorite day of the week! No work, no work the next day and if I am really lucky some yard sales, crafting and no shower ;) ahhhh....Saturday how I love thee!

Thankful for rolling!

I am thankful & EXCITED today for my little man. He rolled over from his back to his belly! He has been doing the belly to back for a few weeks but had yet to master the next step. He doesn’t love being on his belly or rolling for that matter, he was too cute today though! I happened to turn around just in time to catch it! Cheers and clapping ensued, followed by a big cheesy smile. Man I love this boy! I’ll try to catch a roll on video…once the camera is out though usually he just hams it up and stares.

Day 5

I am thankful for creativity and all that comes with it…including my patient (most of the time) family for understanding my need to destroy the house for the love of creating :) I am thankful for other people's amazing creativity and their willingness to share it in the blog world! There are some fabulously crafty people in the world that supply me with endless inspiration and the occasional pang of jealousy ;)

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Day 4

Day 4

I am thankful for my family. We have all had our highs and lows…our sane moments and well less than sane moments. In the end we are always there for each other. I am beyond thankful for my sisters and my momma. I don’t know many siblings that are as close as we are and for that alone I am blessed. My mom is wonder woman…she raised 3 little girls from the cutest things ever into some pretty great women! She has put up with some crazy shenanigans from me alone and still loves me.

30 days of Thanks

Day 3
I am thankful to have a job. I am even more thankful to have a job that is still allowing me to bring Sawyer to work. Most days I would MUCH rather be home spending time with my family and crafting but for now I am thankful. We have bills to pay and I am glad I can contribute...for now ;) There are a lot of people in the world that would do just about anything for a job to pay their bills.

Hard at work emailing Aunt Erica

He does this a few times a week...I love it

Nothing more exciting than watching a little traffic go by
